Cornea Transplant

Cornea Transplant

At Kansagra Eye Hospital, we offer expert Cornea Transplant procedures to restore your vision and eye health. Our Optical Keratoplasty options include PKP (full-thickness transplant), DSEK and DMEK (partial-thickness endothelial procedures), and DALK (anterior layer transplant), each designed to suit specific corneal conditions. For severe infections or injuries, we perform Therapeutic Keratoplasty (TKP) and Patch Grafts to save and repair the eye. Led by Dr. Hemal Kansagra, our team uses the latest techniques to ensure successful outcomes with minimal recovery time. Trust us to bring back the clarity, comfort, and health your eyes deserve with tailored corneal care.

A cornea transplant, also known as keratoplasty, is a surgical procedure where a damaged or diseased cornea is replaced with a healthy donor cornea. The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped front part of the eye that helps focus light onto the retina. When damaged, it can cause blurred or distorted vision. Cornea transplants aim to restore vision and improve eye health.

Optical Keratoplasty

Optical Keratoplasty

Surgical procedures to replace damaged corneal tissue with healthy donor tissue to improve vision.

  • PKP (Penetrating Keratoplasty): Full-thickness corneal transplant.
  • DSEK (Descemet's Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty): Partial-thickness transplant replacing the inner layer of the cornea.
  • DMEK (Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty): An even thinner partial-thickness transplant replacing only the Descemet's membrane and endothelial cells.
  • DALK (Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty): Partial-thickness transplant replacing the front and middle layers of the cornea, leaving the patient's own back layer.
Therapeutic Keratoplasty

Therapeutic Keratoplasty

  • TKP (Therapeutic Keratoplasty): Removal of infected or severely damaged corneal tissue.
  • Patch Graft: Using a small piece of donor cornea to repair corneal defects or thinning.
